I think the issue about womens safety (or even perceived safety) on the streets is a different issue really.
When you come home from the pub by yourself (when that was a thing) or go out for a run or walk do you even think about being attacked or harassed?
I dont , but maybe you should ask a woman in your life about the 'precautions' they take

My Mrs said men are generally scum and predatory
Before I met her she said every time she went to a bar or pub blokes would touch her or say comments about her

The precautions I took were to move out of the cesspit that London has become. I never worry about my wife or kids when they are out where we live.

Many men are probably on the pull, which you could call kind of predatory, but hardly any men want to harm or scare women.
Other men are the ones in most danger from the dangerous men.
Your sons are more likely to get a nasty kicking than your daughters are to be raped, murdered, or just the standard kicking.
I’ve seen women violently attack other women on a night out, but I wouldn’t tar all women with that brush.

Sven - you'll be pleased to know that for decades I've been aware of potentially worrying women by my presence on a quiet street, and have tried to reduce their concerns by pausing or getting quickly past etc. But if all decent men did the same thing, it would make little difference to the crime statistics (and hence the fear of being attacked) because predatory violent types would not change their behaviour at all. So to blame all men for not doing enough is wrong thinking.

Agree Lily, yes there are some utter scum of blokes about but its the minority. Social media last 48 hours you'd think it was the majority.
Regarding the walking at night thing, i wouldnt say its just a issues for girls.......i reckon most blokes would be looking over their shoulder walking around any part of london at night. Its a utter shitole filled with scum....mainly foreigners from a certain part of the world depending what part of London you are in who are associated to a drugs gang who either want to stab you for a initiation or throw acid in your face for your phone or car keys
Whilst the issue for girls is huge and i get that......the issue would be far less if there was competent policing in London and a justice system which acted as a deterrent rather than these gangs taking the piss and turning London into the huge shitole its become
